Extinct Echoes

Welcome to our nonprofit, dedicated to raising awareness about animal extinctions since the year 2000. Our mission is to educate the public on the importance of biodiversity and the critical role that every species plays in our ecosystem. Through informational content, we strive to inspire action and encourage conservation efforts to protect our planet's wildlife for future generations. Join us in making a difference and safeguarding the future our precious animal species.
Since the year 2000, an estimated 4,200 species have slipped into extinction, with only 17 officially recognized—meaning thousands of animals and plants disappeared without most of us ever knowing they existed. Each of these losses is not just a number, but a broken thread in the web of life that sustains our planet. The main drivers—deforestation, climate change, pollution, overhunting, and invasive species—all trace back to human activity. Every vanished frog, bird, or insect once played a part in protecting ecosystems that we rely on for clean air, fresh water, food, and even potential medicines. When species vanish, ecosystems weaken, and humanity feels the ripple effects—whether through failing crops, rising disease risks, or a planet less resilient to climate change. These extinctions are not distant tragedies; they are warnings that what we do to the natural world, we ultimately do to ourselves. Protecting biodiversity means protecting our own future.
